Working in Christian ministry, whether paid or voluntary, can be challenging and it is necessary that we have the right support to deliver our best. Part of this is Professional Supervision with someone who can help you to focus on strategies and relationships within your ministering environment.
Many Churches and Church organisations have made it mandatory for those that lead in ministry.
With a wealth of experience, both within the Church and more broadly across the community, allows a holistic approach to supporting your ministry and ministry areas. This experience is drawn from working in local churches, chaplaincy, mission support, senior leadership, and church organisations.
Stemming from a counselling background, we are able to support ministry workers with complex needs, especially those dealing with burnout or other health issues.
Tailoring these services to your needs, we aim to help you navigate your journey and achieve the best outcome you can.
Whether you are just starting on your ministry journey or are finding that you need a bit of encouragement, coaching may be the next step in helping you to develop your ministry.
With over 15 years of supporting those in ministry from a variety of Christian denominations and faith backgrounds, we are able to assist you in exploring new avenues for developing your skills and gifts.
It is not a case of giving you a suite of answers and tools, but rather supporting you to find the resources you need to make your own choices. You will have someone in your corner cheering you on when you succeed, but also supporting when you stumble. With extensive experience in ministry and community leadership, in ministries within local churches, chaplaincy, mission support, pastoral care and senior leadership, we can guide you along your ministry pathway helping you to achieve all that you can for the Lord.
Life and ministry don't always go according to plan, and in more recent times the stresses and demands of ministry work often place workers in challenging health situations. Instances of anxiety, depression, mental unwellness and burnout are on the rise. For ministers and church workers, experiencing these conditions is sometimes perceived as weakness or a lack of faith. There is a hesitation in seeking support.
We are able to provide counselling support especially where the needs are complex. This support has largely focused on those who have experienced trauma through grief and loss, sexual abuse, domestic violence and ministry conflict. The aim has, and always will be, to get people back on their feet and strengthened in managing these challenges to the best of their ability.
Finding yourself in a situation you're not sure how to deal with, and you're looking for a way forward where your voice is able to be heard?
We are able to support you in evaluating your alternative approaches, and assist you in preparing the steps to addressing these issues in the best way possible.
This includes supporting you in discussions with supervisors and senior leaders, to ensure that your interests for justice and fairness in negotiations and reviews are effectively communicated. Acting as your support person, we seek to help you understand the situations, and explore all possible alternatives, helping you to respond and make the best choices for a mutually positive outcome.
Very few work environments always run smoothly, and often conflict can cause significant damage and hardship. Our church communities are not exempt from these challenges and often need help to reach a point of shalom. Using the "Peacewise" model we are able to offer mediation and conflict resolution to help settle disputes. Working with all parties and with a focus on respectful communication, in the guidance of the Holy Spirit we seek to reflect Christ in all discussions and deliberations, moving toward a mutually agreed outcome.
One thing is certain for all Christians – we are not perfect and sometimes we fall. For Church Leaders this can mean the removal from their position. In some circumstances the Lord will open up the opportunity to be restored to serving in leadership.
If you are in this situation and are seeking a pathway back, we can assist you to explore this possibility. We can facilitate a formal process of exploring a return to licenced ministry for clergy & church workers who have previously been withdrawn from ministry. This involves review of the circumstances, negotiations with all parties, facilitating the process of discernment, and recommendations at the conclusion.
We have the experience to deliver these services to a high standard ensuring that the right information is provided and informed decision can be made with the Lord’s help.
